What is the blog all about?

This blog is all about my adventures in EVE Online, a Massively Multiplayer Online game, set in outer space, far in the future. A few of the entries here are things that I have posted on the Suddenly Ninjas forums, now made available to the general public.

Who are you?

My name is Velocity Prime. In EVE, I am what many consider to be a despicable, low-life scum: I am a ninja salvager. Indeed, one of the best. I am the CEO of the largest ninja salvaging corporation in New Eden, Suddenly Ninjas <YOINK>, and the Tear Extraction and Reclamation Service alliance [TEARS]. But collecting salvage in systems all across the galaxy is only the tip of the iceberg. I love to PvP and I love to collect the tears of mission runners, whether it be in local chat, private convos, or EVE-mail. Does it make me sad that some, if not most people hate me because of it? Nope.

If you mission in my system, you play by my rules, and those rules mean that I can salvage what I want. I will find you eventually and pay you a visit to lay claim to my prize. The salvage that results from mission runners' constant bombardment of NPCs does not entitle the mission runner to it. On the contrary, that salvage is anyone's for the taking, including me, and take it I will. You have to be faster than me if you want to lay claim to it. Few are.

Why do I do it? Because I enjoy it. Because I find running mission after endless mission boring, but the conversations that usually result due to my so-called "nefarious activities" are far more entertaining than what is offered by the mission NPCs. You should see some of the conversations I've had with people who don't agree with my salvaging activities.

Anyone can salvage any mission. The skill set involved is fairly minimal, even the newest player is capable of making a decent living from it, but few have the skills or the finesse to do it in style. My salvaging frigate costs as much as a mission Raven - all paid for with the salvage I rescue from the clutches of the greedy.

This blog is a chronical of my adventures. Enjoy.
