I just prefer my uber salvaging frigates to go fast. I usually don't loot a whole lot in these types of ships anyways. They're pretty fragile. If I really see a 1600 mm plate that I just have to have and I'm in one of these, or even a Vigil that has limited cargo capacity, I'll take one or both of the OD's offline.

Either way, faction frigates are a hoot.

Aiden Mourn comments on The Quest for Cool (Again)

I'm still a fan of the firetail, and Galmarr does bring up some petty good points. Just the same, your Dramiel fit is total win and I'm pretty sure I'm going to find one of these puppies under the tree with love from myself come christmas morning. The firetail is definitely still a classic though. When I get rich enough, I'm totally buying a hanger-full of faction and rare ships, Jay Leno style.

-Aiden

P.s. I'll probably ninja this fit for my own blog soon (with full credit to you of course =P )

Galmarr comments on The Quest for Cool (Again)

Let me make a case for the Federation Navy Comet

Speed is not the only requirement for a pimped salvager. Cargo space is also a prereq.

Overdrive Injector System II x2 reduces your cargohold by 40% to 83 m3! Nothing is more irritating than seeing a 1600mm plate and not being able to swipe it without a loot drop. Local Hull Conversion Overdrive I will suffice.

The Comet has 4 low slots for more nanos, larger drone bay and cargohold:

[Federation Navy Comet, HuggyBear]

Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Domination Overdrive Injector

Gistii B-Type 1MN Afterburner

Small Capacitor Battery II

Small Shield Extender II

Salvager II

Salvager II

Salvager II

Small Auxiliary Thrusters I

Small Cargohold Optimization I

Small Cargohold Optimization I

Warrior II x6

The MWD would be nice but not necessary since most wrecks are relatively close and reduces the chance to overshoot the wreck.
The Gistii B-Type AB and the Domination Overdrive Injector(-5% cargo, if you can find one) is a nice touch, not to mention pimp status.

With level V skills, your speeds are 1834 m/s using the AB. It won't break any records, but is more than adequate to speed tank, has a sig radius of 44m, and will align in 2 seconds (3.1 with the AB activated). And is stable at 55%.

Here is my advantage with the Comet:
Warriors II x5 - 80.4 DPS 17.1 more than the Dramiel
Cargohold 176 m3 - 93 m3 more cargo space(less loot drops)

Cyberin comments on The Quest for Cool (Again)

Now, you just gotta buy one for all the ninjas and have a Dramiel op :D

Spins Meats comments on Some CSM Candidates Think Your Sandbox Is Too Big for You

I'm listening to the recording of this show now, and this guy just didn't seem to 'get it' (advocating dumbing down the interface for newer players, amongst other braindead ideas).

I occasionally ninja salvage, and occasionally run L4s for cash. I've found that ninja-ing is good to annoy self-righteous L4 mission runners, and ignoring salvage is good for making more ISK and LP. I am yet to encounter a ninja salvager in an L4 i'm doing.

To my mind, L4s are already OP, and CCP have repeatedly said that they didn't want salvage to add to mission runner's guaranteed income (cbf finding the quote, i'm pretty sure ironfleet have a copy of it tho.)

Regardless, I voted for Karrde.

Velocity Prime comments on Some CSM Candidates Think Your Sandbox Is Too Big for You

Hi Mynxee. Thanks for the kind words. It will be interesting to see where this goes.

Yeah, you're right. A lot of mission runners do not salvage their missions - that's good for the people who scan them down (especially the less experienced folks) and good for the rig market as well. Imagine all that ISK just floating out there in space, unclaimed...

Where's my salvaging boat!?

:D
